PlusTime NH is a statewide non-profit organization whose mission is to provide the guidance, leadership, and support
essential to create, improve, and sustain afterschool programs in New Hampshire communities.
PlusTime NH was established in 1990 with a grant from the NH Department of Health and Human in response to the
increasing problem of unsupervised youth and the limited resources available for communities to start out-of-school time programs.
Launched with only one half-time staff member, and a $23,000 budget, PlusTime NH has grown to an organization of 15 staff members,
capacity for 60 AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps*VISTA members, and a budget over 1.5 million dollars. By providing direct support, training,
information, and funding assistance, PlusTime NH is able to help communities throughout the state identify the needs of youth and mobilize
resources to develop and sustain appropriate afterschool programs.
Over the past decade, PlusTime NH has secured upwards of $10 million dollars in resources for local afterschool programs by developing
innovative grant-making and volunteer programs. In the past 5 years alone PlusTime NH has assisted in starting and expanding 230 programs
serving 12,382 youth who might otherwise go home alone after school. PlusTime NH is currently providing training, financial, and/or human
resources to 112 afterschool programs serving over 25,000 youth throughout the state.
PlusTime NH is an established leader within the state and a pioneer amongst the 38 statewide afterschool networks in the United States.
